Wedding invitation video price in India
An honest guide to what these cost in 2026, what makes the number move, and when the cheaper option is the right one.
Search for invitation video prices and you will find figures from two hundred rupees to twenty thousand, which is not much help. The spread exists because one phrase is being used for two genuinely different products. This page separates them so you can work out what you should be paying.
The two markets
1. Template platforms
You choose from a library of finished designs, submit your names and dates through a form, and receive a video — often within a day, sometimes within minutes. Published rates from platforms and sellers operating in India commonly sit in the ₹200 to ₹1,500 band, with individual sellers advertising figures such as ₹900 for a static card and ₹1,200 to ₹1,499 for a video invitation. Some platforms include unlimited revisions at that price.
What you are buying is distribution of an existing design. The trade-off is that other couples have used, and will use, the same design.
2. Custom design work
The invitation is designed for your wedding: a direction chosen with you, names typeset rather than inserted, animation built around your function list. This takes hours rather than minutes, and pricing reflects that — commonly several thousand rupees, rising with length and animation depth. Broad guides to the Indian market describe an overall range of roughly ₹1,000 to ₹10,000 once custom and cinematic work is included.
This is the end we work at. We quote per project rather than publishing a fixed rate, for the reason set out below.
The single most useful question to ask
Ask any provider: "Is this design being made for my wedding, or selected from designs you already have?" The answer tells you which market you are in, and therefore whether the price is reasonable. Paying a custom price for template work is the main way couples overpay here.
What moves the number
- Length. A fifteen-second save-the-date and a ninety-second invitation film are different amounts of design, not just different export settings.
- Number of functions. Each function needs its own typesetting and often its own colour treatment. Four functions is closer to four small projects than to one.
- Animation depth. Moving typography is quick. Custom illustration, particle work and 3D elements take substantially longer — which is why caricature invitations cost more.
- Photo work. Cutting subjects out of backgrounds, retouching and colour-matching your photographs to the palette is manual work.
- Languages. A second or third language means re-typesetting and re-proofing every line — see Marathi invitations.
- Urgency. Faster than the normal 48-hour first draft means reordering other couples' work.
Where couples waste money
- Buying length. Ninety seconds feels like better value and performs worse. Relatives stop watching around forty.
- Ordering piecemeal. Commissioning the save-the-date, then each function, then the main invitation separately costs more than planning the set at once — and the pieces rarely match.
- Paying for effects nobody sees. Elaborate particle work behind the names largely disappears once WhatsApp compresses the video. See designing for WhatsApp.
- Re-export charges. Ask upfront whether a venue-screen quality version costs extra later. Ours does not.
A straight comparison
| Factor | Template platforms | Custom design (us) |
|---|---|---|
| Published price | Roughly ₹200–₹1,500 | Quoted per project |
| Turnaround | Minutes to about a day | First draft in about 48 hours |
| Design made for you | No — existing template | Yes |
| Regional-language typesetting | Font substitution into a fixed layout | Typeset and proofed line by line |
| Vertical + landscape cuts | Varies by platform | Both, re-framed not cropped |
| Revisions | Varies — some state unlimited | Until you approve |
| Choose this when | Budget or speed is the priority | The invitation matters as much as the day |
Third-party price ranges on this page were compiled in July 2026 from publicly published pricing pages of digital-invitation platforms and sellers operating in India. Prices, features and terms change without notice — check each provider's own site for current details. Product and platform names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are referenced here only for factual comparison. Where a lower-cost option suits you better, we will say so.
What we charge
We quote per project, because two invitations described in the same words can be very different amounts of work. A quote comes back the same day you send your function list, and nothing is charged until you agree the number. Our pricing page sets out the three shapes most projects take.
If your budget points to a template platform, we will tell you that in the first message. We would rather lose the enquiry than sell you custom work you did not need.
Questions
Pricing, answered
How much does a wedding invitation video cost in India?
There is no single answer, because the term covers two different products. Template platforms publish rates from roughly ₹200 to ₹1,500, where your names are placed into an existing design. Custom design work, where the invitation is made for your wedding, commonly runs into several thousand rupees depending on length and complexity.
Both are legitimate. Which is right depends on your budget and how much the invitation matters to you relative to everything else in the wedding.
Why do prices vary so much for what sounds like the same thing?
Because the work behind them is different. Filling text into a finished template takes minutes. Designing an invitation from a brief — typesetting names, building the animation, proofing regional-language lines, exporting two formats — takes hours.
When you see a very low price, you are usually buying a template. That is not a criticism; it is just worth knowing what you are buying.
What should I budget for a multi-function wedding?
Think in terms of a set rather than per invitation. A save-the-date, invitations for two or three functions, the main invitation and a matching static e-card is a substantial amount of design, and booking it as one set costs less than commissioning each piece separately.
Tell us the full function list at the start even if you only want to order part of it now — it changes what we recommend.
Are there hidden costs?
There should not be. Our quote covers the brief we agreed. If you later ask for something outside it — an extra function, a longer film, a different concept after approval — we tell you the cost before doing the work, not afterwards.
The one thing worth asking any provider about upfront is re-export charges: whether a higher-quality version for a venue screen costs extra later.
Is the cheapest option ever the right one?
Often, yes. If your budget is tight, your timeline is very short, or the invitation genuinely is not where you want to spend, a template platform will serve you well and we will say so in the first message rather than talk you into custom work.
What we would not recommend is paying a custom price for template work. Ask any provider directly whether your design is being made for you or selected from an existing library.
